MARK IIID AM/FM

AM/FM Rebroadcast System

The MARK IIID is the state of the art in AM/FM rebroadcast equipment with improved circuit design expanding the system dynamic range for complete flexibility and selectivity of AM and FM stations.

The MARK IIID can receive any radio station available in the tunnel site and effectively rebroadcast that station into the tunnel.

Voice override features, allow the normal on-air radio signals to be substituted with locally produced messages in case of emergency or traffic advisories.

Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) signals can also be re-broadcast using a dedicated radio channel in the AM or FM band.

Features

  • Multi-channel AM/FM digital signal conditioner.
  • Support of analog and digital AM and FM, HD broadcasting.
  • Narrowband Digital Filters.
  • Per channel Digital Automatic Gain Control (AGC)
  • Dual RF Output with independent break-in capability.
  • Integrated with VAR3 Digital Recorder and Override Controller Software Application.
  • Webserver for configuration via ethernet.
  • Break-in (Override) or HAR audio received via network links.

RFA-2 AM/FM Power Amplifier

The RFA-2 amplifiers are used to boost all the commercial broadcast stations, typically 20 to 40 carriers per band. The amplifiers are designed with special linear characteristics and continuous operation, with 100% duty cycle 24 hours/7 days a week.

Digital Recorder and Rebroadcast Controller (VAR3)

The VAR3 is the state-of-the-art computer based digital recorder and emergency voice override controller.

The VAR3 has pre-recorded broadcast capabilities for simultaneousv transmission on all local AM and FM broadcast stations.

Multiple independent channels are provided to allow different messages to be broadcasted to different traffic zones (for example, different tunnels).

Multiple sites may be controlled from a single VAR3.

The VAR3 supports remote control using the VAR3 Real Time Conroller (VAR3-RTC) or through Canam's Low-Level Remote-Control Protocol (LRC Protocol).
